Four Amazing Ways To Announce Your Pregnancy
There's always so much excitement when someone announces they're pregnant - from the expectant couple themselves to parents, grandparents, siblings, friends and even work colleagues. As a moment in time, it's just as special as many of the inevitable events that happen thereafter, such as a baby shower or christening. And it's the perfect excuse to celebrate good news and inform all the people that need to know, so they can plan ahead too.
So how exactly do you announce you're expecting? There is, of course, just saying it face-to-face, plain as day. But we think it's far more fun, special and exciting to announce the news in a different way. Take a look at our top four examples...
1. Bun in the oven
Want to inject humour into the way you reveal all? Have the relevant people come round, then tell them you've got some exciting news. Lead the way into the kitchen and open the oven door - earlier you'll have placed a bun inside, effectively reflecting the famous 'bun in the oven' phrase.
Then just await the realisation and watch it dawn on them. This is a particularly good option if you want to keep costs down - what does an iced bun cost, 80p? - and is an ideal way of telling equally-humoured friends and family.
2. Coupon surprise
There was a woman who informed her husband that she was pregnant by giving him a coupon that said ‘Redeemable for One (1) Baby - Available February, 2016.’ Isn't that great? Because it's all well and good telling family and friends, but the mum-to-be has to, of course, tell the expectant father in the best way possible first, and this way is adorable. If it proves really successful, then the same process could work for expectant grandparents, aunts and uncles, or otherwise.
3. Invite them to the christening
If you're planning on having your little one christened, you could just go right ahead and invite everyone to the prospective christening. This is a fantastic way of letting a multitude of people know in one fell swoop. You can get gorgeous, affordable cards and other crafts such as personalised photobook of the event online. And for the picture of the baby? You could use the ultrasound photograph!
4. Do a Tom Fletcher
Do you have a cracking camera and some time on your hands? You could make an amazing video to announce you're expecting. Tom Fletcher of McFly fame did this to reveal he and his wife are having a second child and it went viral - the video centres around playing a video game, but Player 2 is simply 'loading' at this stage.
These are just some exciting options for you to be inspired by, as giving birth is one of the most precious times in a person's life and should be celebrated as such. If you're pregnant or trying to be, how do you plan on announcing the news to everyone?
